Shall we meet for Coffee?

coffee 2

            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will not believe the number of cool new stamps that Lindsay has designed. I totally love the coffee themed stamps…they are so much fun!
For my card this week I used a sketch from Inspiration Card Sketches (ICS) where by the way Lindsay is the sponsor this weeek for the prize. Make sure to check out ICS and enter your card, you never know you might be the lucky winner of some wonderful stamps!
It was fun trying to incorporate my ideas to the design of the sketch. For this card I used the polka dot coffee mug stamp along with the little sugar bowl from the coffee border stamp and last but not least the word stamp that coordinates with the set. ” How have you bean? ” so clever! :)
I printed out the images then colored them in using a combination of Prisma markers and Bic permanent markers. I printed the phrase on a piece of Cosmo Cricket paper and distressed the edges by rolling them. I then cut a small slit and inserted the navy blue piece of paper that has a circle punched out of it to give it some fun and of course you know how I love dimension so I had to make the cup POP! and for a small finishing touch I cut out the small sugar bowl that comes with the coffee jitters border stamp and Voila! a cute fun card to give to a friend. I urge you to visit Lindsay’s shop and definitely her blog because she is giving away a ton of great freebies that you don’t want to miss!
Also make sure and stop by Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff group at Card Universe make sure to join, chat and get some great inspiration and ideas.
Thursday is here!
LO hb1
I can’t believe how fast the days go by. This week just came and went I don’t even know where it went. This morning was just a crazy morning here at our household my DS decided it would be great to mix paint along with breakfast literally so that was a mess you didn’t even want to see! needless to say I was running like crazy to the computer trying to get this post up, after cleaning up the mess. I sure do hope that, that is not an indication for  the day ahead. :) I guess I don’t even really recall everything that happened YIKES!
Well since the calendar say’s it’s Thursday I guess it’s thursday and I have another LO for you using Lindsay’s Stamps. This week I decided to use the birthday cake which is so scrumptious!  and the ABC cursive lettering block from the school card kit.
IMG_8187 2Don’t forget that we have another fun freebie among the design team members so make sure to make your rounds and leave some sweet comments while you are browsing. I printed the image on Bazzil dots paper (one of my fav. cardstock papers) then used my trusty watercolor crayons and my aqua brush to color it in. I then printed out the ABC ruled image from Lindsay’s Schoolcard kit and just ran it through the sewing machine for some fun stitching. I also made that into a pocket where I can tuck a journaling tag. Don’t forget that Lindsay is still running her special this month that when you purchase $5 dollars you get a free stamp!
Going green with creative ideas and freebies along the way.
Let’s help the environment and create some fun projects along the way.
card and box day 1 green
For the next several days I am going to be showing you various projects and tips to reuse and recycle materials that you can use in your creative projects. I will be posting different freebies along the way that you can use to create some fun and crafty creations. Make sure you come back everyday to see the project of the day and to see what freebies could be given away.
First of all Lindsay the owner of Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff  has so generously created an adorable tree digi stamp  for us in honor of green week and today until next Thursday you can download it here for FREE. The links to download the free digital stamp and the template for the box will be at the end of the post.  So here is a project to start off Green week.
Box and card day 1 Green week-1
I created a small box out of the cardboard that comes from the back of my scrapbook papers and I cut out the box pattern using my Cricut with the Sure cuts a lot program (SCAL). If you don’t have a Cricut I have also made a file that you can just print out and cut by hand. After assembling the box I then printed out my digital stamp which in this case is the FREE tree image and of course used my watercolor crayons to color some of them with, added some leaves and also printed the digital stamp  on patterned paper to use with the card that goes with this box.
I then attached the images to my box which I trimmed with some rick rack ribbon I found at a yard sale a whole bag full for just a quarter! I also cut out two ovals to decorate the front of the box where I can write a little sentiment on later. I filled the box with various teas and packets of those drink mixes you use for your bottled water and I will be handing this to a friend just as a happy package for the day. Along with the box I also created a card using an old CD label and some little scraps of paper and paint chip samples I had laying around my studio.
Buttons and Puppies what can be cuter?
So here is a scrapbookpage I created using one of the digital stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff. I used one of the buttons from the babies and bows collection (which is a steal for a $1) and here is the other female in our homestead her name is Jetta (isn’t she adorable) our little man named her after the VW Jetta . ( if only they stay this small and compact)  :)
I printed six of the buttons to my desired size and colored them using my watercolor crayons, prisma markers and chalk ink pad for the edges to get the shadow effect. I cut them out used dimensional adhesive to glue them on the page and laced my ribbon around them. I think they turned out super cute. ( I already have a card idea for the same technique…I might work on that today and see if I can’t post it later…we’ll see) I absolutely adore buttons I just think they always add that pop I want to a page or card I use them all the time and with this digital stamp you don’t have to keep buying buttons you just keep printing them out as many times and in any size you want, plus you can color it any color you need. Seriously how cool is that! Head on over and check out some new things in Lindsay’s shop she added some cool vintage Alice images… you just have to see them! best $3 bucks you will spend.
