Thursday is here!

LO hb1

I can’t believe how fast the days go by. This week just came and went I don’t even know where it went. This morning was just a crazy morning here at our household my DS decided it would be great to mix paint along with breakfast literally so that was a mess you didn’t even want to see! needless to say I was running like crazy to the computer trying to get this post up, after cleaning up the mess. I sure do hope that, that is not an indication for  the day ahead. :) I guess I don’t even really recall everything that happened YIKES!

Well since the calendar say’s it’s Thursday I guess it’s thursday and I have another LO for you using Lindsay’s Stamps. This week I decided to use the birthday cake which is so scrumptious!  and the ABC cursive lettering block from the school card kit.

IMG_8187 2Don’t forget that we have another fun freebie among the design team members so make sure to make your rounds and leave some sweet comments while you are browsing. I printed the image on Bazzil dots paper (one of my fav. cardstock papers) then used my trusty watercolor crayons and my aqua brush to color it in. I then printed out the ABC ruled image from Lindsay’s Schoolcard kit and just ran it through the sewing machine for some fun stitching. I also made that into a pocket where I can tuck a journaling tag. Don’t forget that Lindsay is still running her special this month that when you purchase $5 dollars you get a free stamp!

I can’t believe it’s Thursday already this week just flew by. Since it’s Thursday that means it’s time to post my project for LSS (Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff) for this week I choose to work with the beautiful oriental poppy stamp.

LO bee 5.5

Poppies are one of my favorite flowers. I have always had them in our garden in each house we lived in. Awwww isn’t my little guy cute in his bee outfit? With having a boy I really don’t have a lot of opportunity to use flowers on my LO’s so when I see an opportunity I seize it. What could be more perfect than this picture to use with flowers. To make this LO I first printed the Poppy stamp in 3 different sizes. I printed them out on a thin velum paper because it reminded me of that paper like quality that these flowers posses. After printing I colored them using Bic permanent markers (this was the first time I used just these markers entirely for coloring) I usually like to mix things when coloring. I loved the way they worked on the velum paper, the colors were clear and vibrant. After coloring all the images I then cut out each one and assembled it on my LO to see how I wanted my picture positioned. From there I added some stitching, paper embelishments and some journaling around the edges of the flowers. This stamp is a definite must have in your collection and for only a dollar how can you go wrong. If you spend just $5 dollars you will also receive a FREE stamp of your choice. Make sure you stop by Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff and grab some awesome stamps to use with you LO’s and cards well the deals just keep getting better because we are also still searching for the freebie this week. You know the drill stop on over to the other DT members blog and see their creations, somewhere among them you can snag a FREE stamp.

HI all! I hope everyone had a great weekend. My weekend was busy busy but FUN! Saturday I attended a class that was taught by Tina Freeman one of Prima’s Prima Donna’s. Here is a picture of Tina and I taken by my friend Angela.

The projects were fun and of course when you attend these classes you walk out with a bunch of free products from Prima! you can’t beat that! Plus we got to keep some of the materials that we had leftover from our projects.

Sunday I spent the day with one of my friends and we watched  another friend compete in a triathlon. Let me tell you it was a very moving and inspiring day for me. Did I mention the triathlon was only for women. That is what made it so moving…there were 3,000 women of different ages and shapes. Some were there for the competition and some were three just to prove to themselves they can accomplish something they have never done before. There was a woman who completed the course and she was a 3 time cancer survivor…THREE different cancers! What an amazing and touching story. There were tons of inspiring stories that surrounded you with all 3,000 women. Just AMAZING!

small ty bag 3

Well a happy thursday to all. It promises to be a good day here so hopefully where ever you are you will be enjoying some sunshine as well. Since it’s thursday you know it’s time to play find the freebie again with Lindsay’s stamp stuff Design Team. For my project today I choose to make a little thank you gift bag that can be made with just a plain small paper bag.

small ty bag side

To give body to the paper bag I just adhered cardstock to both sides of the bag. Just measure the width of the bag and the height (give a little extra room at the top so you can punch out holes for the handles) after you have the measurements then transfer it to your card stock and cut out the amount you need to cover both sides. I then Printed out the fun cupcake tower image from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff and colored it with some Bic markers. I adhered some dew drops for the cherries on top of the cup cakes to add some whimsy. Top it off by tying an assortment of fibers and ribbons to the handle to add some fun to your bag. I added the Thank you tag from Cosmo Cricket just to balance the whole thing off. Remember to stop by and take a look at the other creations from the Design Team and look for the hidden freebie this week. There is a special going on right now in Lindsay’s shop that if you spend just $5 dollars you get a free stamp so make sure to take advantage of it. She has also added some new designs!!! Take a look at her blog to see what she has created with them.

The wait is finally over….

Cosmo Cricket has chosen the finalists and no I was not one of them but I am OK with that. Yes of course I would be lying if I said I was not sad to be picked but after all there were over 300 applicants for the 3 or 4 positions they are trying to fill. So they really had a tough job this year, but this process definitely inspired me to give it my all and try again next year. The good thing is that now I can concentrate on the sneak peek video for them and see what comes out of that. You always have to put your hat in the ring to let them know you are interested right? I just take this as a challenge and now I have one of my goals set for next year. Congratulations to all the finalists and I can’t wait to see their creations. Make sure to check out their awesome projects you can find the list at Comso Cricket’s blog. Everyone did a great job!
